The Role
A dermatology clinic in Calgary is adding a part-time family physician with postgraduate dermatology training, for an immediate start. The focus is medical dermatology — assessing and treating skin conditions in patients referred by family physicians — with aesthetic work available but optional.
Responsibilities
- Assess skin conditions, plan treatment and follow outcomes
- See new patients on referral and send consult notes to the referring family physician
- Provide follow-up care, or hand ongoing care to the clinic’s in-house general practitioner
- Support and coach the clinic’s nursing team
- Work with the clinic’s marketing team to build your patient base, including through social media
Qualifications
- A full, independent licence to practise in Canada — current with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA), or able to transfer to CPSA from another province
- Diploma in Dermatology (e.g., Cardiff Diploma in Practical Dermatology) or equivalent postgraduate dermatology training — required
- Interest or experience in aesthetic medicine — an asset, not required
- Laser, Botox or dermal filler certification — an asset, not required
- Candidates who need Canadian licensing or international relocation aren’t being considered at this time

The clinic is part of an established dermatology group. It treats medical and cosmetic skin conditions in patients of all ages, with an in-house nursing team, a general practitioner for continuing care, and current treatment technology.
